From Dad to Daughter

Hopefully this will work. Just a little poem that I'd like any opinions on please :)

Master of secrets
Master of disguise
Master of speaking nothing but lies

Everything is hidden
Everything is concealed
Everything must never be revealed

A sequence of stories
A tale never ending
Always, always the truth is bending

Master of secrets
Everything is hidden
A sequence of stories
From Dad to Daughter

Let's see how this works...

Ok, so this is a test post for our first blog.  I've created tags for each person that should be at the right hand side of this text.  If you put your name in as a "label" on the blogger dashboard, along with the theme of the work then you will be able to bring up all of your own historic posts.

For anyone not involved in posting on this site, all we want is opinion to help us develop our writing skills.  Please feel free to compliment or criticise, keeping in mind that it needs to be constructive to actually be helpful for the work that we are doing.

So to kick start things, here is an excerpt from The Tempest, Act
3 Scene 2, followed by my own version written about Blackpool's music scene for a recent event.

Caliban's Speech/Lisa's Speech

Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open and show riches
Ready to drop upon me that, when I waked,
I cried to dream again.

Be not afraid; the town is full of noises,
Drum beats and riffs, that excite and enthral,
Sometimes a thousand hungry voices
Will call desperately for more, and sometimes instruments
That, if I then tried to sleep after quantities of ale
Will make me wake again; open eyed dreaming,
The clouds methought would stay closed, extending the night
To keep the beats, the metres, the pulsing sound

Inspiring me to dream again.
